SAC: To have students come up with the ideas for school events. My role is to guide them and help facilitate their ideas to become a reality.

I worked with 8th grade Chinese students in English by exposing them to different cultures in the graphic novel, American Born Chinese and The Boy Who Harnessed Wind which is non-fiction book. The students also taught me Mandarin and about the Chinese culture. Some my favorite activities I did with my students was to teach them about them about stereotypes and having them do group and class discussions on the literature that we were reading.
I greeted hikers as they arrived to the bus, I spoke to hikers about the Great Wall of China and ensured the safety of the hikers.
I engaged students that were making up their 9th grade English credit by picking out a novel that was relatable to them. The novel that I chose was "Bless Me Ultima" written by the New Mexican author Rudolfo Anaya.
