Notable Contributions
• The impromptu creation of a two-person digital production company resulting in the successful design and implementation of an online event platform for livestreamed virtual and pre-recorded events. This work was accomplished during the pandemic, while working remotely, and required an expansion of current skills, including video editing. A major effort was expended to invoke collaboration between multiple departments and push the limits of historical procedures and processes, while maintaining brand integrity. After 51 months, Oberlin Stage Left had released over 6500minutes of content with over 75K views.
• Creation and implementation of Oberlin Community Music School's administrative processes including an online registration system and complete website redesign, the transitioning of record-keeping ni PowerPoint to recording data in Excel and using Word to merge into professional invoices, and initiating a method of tracking music lessons in order to accurately reconcile pay for the 20 paid faculty. These changes were necessary to support the school's growth in number (from 135 students in 2011 to over 250) and gross profit (an increase of 13% since 2011), while providing ease for future audits without additional software or subscription-based expense for Oberlin.
• Research, creation, and implementation of a new Oberlin Conservatory Off-Campus Travel Risk Management Program which clearly outlined the
liability coverage for students traveling off-campus for Conservatory-sponsored events while streamlining the approval process. After researching what other universities offer and coordinating and attending meetings to collaborate with the College's legal counsel in order to define appropriate language, with the Director of Artistic Programming's approval, I created and initiated a soft launch of a new protocol. After further review, I coordinated and attended meetings to collaborate with the College's IT Department to automate the new protocol. This project improved the workflow, transitioning to electronic copy, and also provided a legal framework for travelers and the College.
• Coordinated and executed the logistics for sending approximately 200 students, faculty, and staff from Oberlin to Chicago for a series of concerts and outreach events - in the absence of a director and with only the assistance of a temporary staff member - including contract execution, guest artist/ student/faculty travel and accommodation arrangements, meal coordination, event production details, creation of a detailed master itinerary for Oberlin executive staff and individual schedules for travelers, coordination of team meetings, while operating within a limited budget.
