Summary
I have always had a passion for working with children from a very young age. From eleven years of age, I have volunteered my time giving back to the community through after school and summer programs. I have since then helped provide childcare for friends and family, while simultaneously taking care of my children. In September of 2017 our family relocated to Missouri, as my husband was called to active duty in the armed forces. I became involved in our church community, which then led me to answer my calling at Westside Christian Academy. I currently assume many roles there, a FT Teachers Assistant, a supervisor for WCA's before/after school program, an Elementary Sunday school teacher, some of which are students of teachers that work as educators for the Waynesville District and surrounding areas. I have served as a preschool teacher for Vacation Bible School, and last but not least, I am currently the Operation Christmas Child Coordinator for the community.
My husband and I have become very active in fostering, providing a loving home to 3 children that are siblings, 1 of which we have thus far adopted. It brings my heart joy to know that I am playing a part in helping them to navigate to become the best versions of themselves. That isn't just through book-taught education, but through providing a strong foundation of self-worth, and life lessons that enables them to be great contributors to society. I want to help others outside of my immediate four walls experience the same.
While the above roles speak to my experiences, it is my passion and love to aide in the growth and development of children that I feel makes me a quality choice. I'd love to sit down, and find out if we are a great fit, and if so, talk about what next steps look like.
