Danielle Lewis

I am the Special Education Administrator for an elementary and middle school. I am responsible for overseeing compliance in the area of Special Education, working with schedulers to make sure services are being provided, training teachers on a regular basis, evaluating para-professionals, and overseeing the day to day operations of Special Education supports within my schools.

In this role, I supported multiple Special Education Program Classes within the district in the area of curriculum and behavior management. I provided professional development trainings to teachers throughout the school year, worked one on one with them to better support their students, and worked individually with specific students who required intense behavioral support to be successful in the school setting.

I had two roles within my teaching career with Cobb County Schools. I was the 5th grade Special Education teacher in a co-taught classroom. I also taught a K-5 Mild Intellectually Disabled classroom for 2 1/2 years. In this position, I supervised 3 para-professionals.

I had two teaching positions within Cleveland City Schools. I taught a K-5 classroom for students with Emotional/ Behavioral needs. This was the only class of it's kind for the district. I supervised 4 para-professionals and was responsible for teaching general ed standards, writing and implementing IEPs, and providing emotional/ behavioral support throughout the day.

Lead teacher of a K-5, Non-Verbal Autism Classroom. In this role I supervised 3 paraprofessionals and collaborated with multiple professionals to ensure a high level of learning for students.

I taught the 6th-10th grade Bible class, 11th grade Intro. to Psychology, and a 12th grade Public Speaking class. In this role, I was responsible for creating lesson plans and following the curriculum provided to me.
