• Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including taking medical histories, performing physical exams, and assessing patients in acute or emergent conditions.
• Assist supervising physicians with diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of medical conditions, such as cardiovascular, respiratory, and neurological emergencies.
• Perform and assist in procedures, such as suturing, splinting, wound care, and administering injections.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as lab results, X-rays, CT scans, and ultrasounds to guide clinical decision-making.
• Collaborate with emergency department staff, including nurses, physicians, and specialists, to develop and implement patient treatment plans.
• Provide patient education regarding their condition, treatment options, and follow-up care.
• Document patient encounters accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and ensure proper communication of care plans during shift handoffs.
• Manage and prioritize multiple patients in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
• Participate in case discussions, and clinical learning opportunities to enhance medical knowledge and skills.
