  • At the end of the day once all my after school children left, I closed up the building for the director and sent staff home.
  • Closing the center was required responsibility that included filing all accident/incident reports that occurred that day, making sure classrooms were cleaned and ready for the next day, and making sure staff were clocked out for the day.

  • It was my duty to complete monthly lesson plans, which included hands on learning activities to create engagement amongst the class.
  • Lesson plans had to be very creative and thinking outside the box was a must.
  • All lesson plans were then reviewed and approved by the director.
  • I had to communicate with parents about their child's growth and developmental skills each child would gain through out the six months.
  • Communication was crucial between the lead teacher and parents.
  • A few months later the director promoted me to opening staff where I opened the entire building every morning.
  • I had to make sure classrooms were safe and ready for the children to enter every morning.
  • I would also direct the staff as well as manage teacher to student ratios of each classroom until all staff arrived for the day.
