Established Uncork & Create in 2012, a creative events company, which offered painting, crafting and cooking classes in Charleston, Teays Valley and Huntington, WV. Developed and maintained company operating procedures, budget, staffing, website, ticketing platform, event planning, branding, media outreach, advertising and created and maintained a robust social media presence. Sold the business to new owners November 1, 2021.
Directed the start up of the Dollar Energy Fund program in WV, VA & TN which was made possible through support from the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation. Responsibilities included recruiting and maintaining utility partners, a statewide advisory council, a network of community-based agencies to assist clients, all fundraising efforts including individual, corporate, foundation and special events, as well as a, comprehensive public relations and advertising campaign. Also, expanded original service area beyond West Virginia to include Virginia and Kingsport, TN.
Raised funds for program and services offered by The Salvation Army Corps across Southern West Virginia via individual, corporate, foundation gifts and specialized marketing campaigns, such as, The Beckley Register Herald's Camp-4-Kids campaign.
Raised funds and awareness for the Midland Trail National Scenic Byway including the planning and implementation of The Taste of the Trail event which showcased gourmet offerings and attractions across the Midland Trail. The event was a great success and very well-attended. The Taste of the Trail event was awarded a Best of West Virginia award at the 2004 Tourism Conference.
