Accomplishments

  • Created and secured funding for “Nubian Moms” at Open Cities Health Center, a program dedicated to providing a personal care navigator to African American mothers with high risk pregnancies, postpartum depression and premature births. We were recognized for our efforts through the African American Babies Coalition to ensure all African American babies and mothers are surrounded by a community who is able to care for them.
  • Secured licensing and corrected past violations under chapter 245G and MN Administrative Rules 9530.6800 and 9530.6810 for State of Minnesota CARE enterprise which allowed the facility to operate without threatened interruption.
  • Identified fatal flaws in operational procedures and created and oversaw a taskforce with Open Cities Clinics to reinstate licensing and funding through passing the audit with Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), and to qualify for and received funding under Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act.
  • Successfully identified and secured over $2.5 million ($1.7M of new resources) in funding to support programs and general operating costs within my tenure at 180.
  • Multiple organizational diversity initiatives introduced to ensure staff, and Board of Directors accurately reflect the diversity of the population served.
  • Founded along executives from Met Council, Metro Transit, Ramsey County Commissioners and non-profit representatives a transportation development committee to identify solutions to the public transportation issues that impede individuals residing in urban areas from securing available positions in the suburban and 3rd shift business communities.
  • As a representative of the YWCA St. Paul, partnered with St. Paul Promise Neighborhood to create, advocate and appropriately lobby for a 1.5 million dollar appropriations bill to the House, Senate and Governor’s offices to address multigenerational poverty and addressing the academic and employment disparities in St. Paul and North Minneapolis’ Promise Neighborhoods. (Bill passed 5/2014)
  • Instilled a human capital development and “coaching” culture within Reuben Lindh, CAP, YWCA and 180 Degrees that upgraded human resources functions including: training, development, compensation and benefits, employee relations, performance evaluation and recruitment. Guided all organizations through difficult right-sizing projects when faced with extreme budget cuts that resulted in improved service with a cost savings.
  • At Reuben Lindh Family Services, CAP and 180 Degrees served as a member of the strategic planning committee. I assisted in identifying gaps in technology, service, funding, marketing and compensation that were significantly limiting organizational growth.
  • As Director of Administration with Reuben Lindh Family Services Worked in partnership with the organization's Founder/ED to create a five year strategic plan that included a succession plan for the Founder/ED. Implemented new processes and approaches to achieve proposed goals.
  • 2016 honoree of St. Paul Chamber Area Chamber of Commerce “East Metro Leading Executive”
  • 2018 Rondo Communities Innovation award for my work in creating “Nubian Mom’s” Integrated Care for High Risk Pregnancies (ICHRP)
