• Assist staff in placement of PIVs and obtain blood sampling for difficult access patients.
• Skilled in use of ultrasound guidance in starting IVs and phlebotomy.
• Provide education to staff, patients and family members on vascular care and maintenance.
• Hospital resource for vascular access.

Radiology Department Duties

• Assisting anesthesiologists with the induction of pediatric patients by helping with airway management, IV insertion, and lab draws
• Recover pediatric patients from general anesthesia and care for their immediate needs in recovery.

Interventional Radiology Department Duties

• Administering proper intravenous for moderate to deep sedation and pain management for adult patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures including but not limited to embolizations, central line insertions, angiograms, drain placements and exchanges
• Knowledgeable and familiar with reversal medications such as Narcan and Romazicon.
• Providing preoperative and postoperative care to adult patients that are being diagnosed and/or treated with interventional radiology technology.

• IV placements, review of medical history and report any contraindications to the physician
• Administration of IV medications for conscious sedation and maintaining stable vital signs and patent airway during and after procedure
• Recovery of patients from conscious sedation, educating patients and reviewing discharge instructions and test results.

• Emergency Department
• Provide emergency care to patients with varying diagnoses and/or chief complaints such as chest pain, heart attacks, strokes, upper and lower gastrointestinal bleeds, sprains or fractures, nausea/vomiting/abdominal pain, headaches, shortness of breath and cardiac arrest
• Nursing care, IV insertion, lab draw, nasogastric tube placements, urinary catheter insertion and removal, 12 lead EKGs, pericare and head to toe assessments.
• Assignment multi-tasking, pertinent information and education provided to patients and family members.

• Providing total care to 1-2 patients in a level III NICU
• Nursing care included IV insertion and removal, wound care, pre/post operative care, blood transfusion, mechanical ventilation, emergency care, and head to toe assessments.
