  • Manage care for high risk antepartum patients with diagnosis's including preeclampsia, premature rupture of membranes, diabetes, preterm labor and more.
  • Provide laboring patients with comfort while ensuring safety of mother and fetus through fetal monitoring and continual assessment of mother/baby status.
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists and obstetricians to ensure timely care is provide throughout labor and delivery.
  • Prepare patient for both scheduled and emergent cesarean sections, providing educating throughout to improve patient experience.
  • Circulate throughout cesarean sections, tubal ligation and cerclage procedures, ensuring coordinated care throughout the surgical period.
  • Provide attentive post anesthesia care to the surgical patient while caring for the newborn and facilitating mother/baby bonding.
  • Manage medical emergencies include postpartum hemorrhages, emergency cesarean sections, newborn resuscitation, and acute hypertensive disorders.
  • Facilitate mother baby bonding throughout the postpartum period by providing education about breastfeeding, circumcision care, and health screenings to thoroughly prepare the couplet for discharge home.
  • Orient and train newly hired RN's all areas of the LDRP unit, helping to build a competent and collaborative team.
