Director (Group General Manager): 3PL Operations Manager for Multiple Major CPG Clients

  • Multi-site, multi-client six food grade regional distribution center operations, with direct oversight and reporting of five General Managers, a Quality Manager and Engineer and ~600 hourly employees.
  • Successfully Managed and operated P&L objectives and budgetary compliance of the six 'food grade' warehouses for all clients across three states and Canada, with a combined 5 million square feet and $54 million in annual revenue.
  • Single point of contact, client facing, including establishing all customer pricing and contract negotiations; new warehouse or operational startups; engineering studies including standardization, layout, operational capacity calculations and automation.
  • Delivered significant, measurable and visible improvements across the network along with managing daily functions of facilities in order to implement real time changes to operational and financial objectives using various techniques including JDI, Lean, and Six Sigma.
  • Constantly analyzed data and utilizing team members for improving existing processes and procedures and implementing best practices to ensure standardization and quantifiable results in order to exceed financial performance and KPI metrics.
  • Reduced network reliance on temp labor to less than 10% by improving recruiting and on site training programs across the network resulting in cost savings through improved attendance, longer tenure, more productive associates, and improved safety culture.
  • In collaboration with one client, we leveraged an AI-based safety tool combined with site level leadership to create safety program that addressed unsafe driving behavior and conditions proactively. This initiative, combined with our robust safety culture, enabled each site across the network to achieve a recordable accident-free status for a time period ranging from one to three years, as per OSHA regulations.

  • Directly manage all day-to-day operations of the Home Delivery, Store Replenishment and Installation Cross Dock of one of the largest warehouses in the company, including transportation, logistics, financial, inventory, dock services and support activities.
  • Heavy focus on KPI and P&L. Designed new reporting spreadsheets as needed including the creation of a KPI scorecard for the installation business that was rolled out nationally.
  • Responsible for hiring, coaching, performance management, scheduling, safety, inventory, asset protection, and ISO/QMS compliance.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination with all businesses within SHC, such as Retail, Delivery, Installation and Commercial Sales in order to keep them informed of and handle any concerns or changes during weekly calls implement immediate changes.
  • Created a KPI Scorecard for the installation that was utilized nationally. Received a Business Performance Award in March of 2012 for creating a Delivery Escalation Communication Process that is now used nationally.
  • Received a Business Performance Award in November of 2012 for getting a national multiple attempt customer process created in order to improve our ability to recover from broken promises to our customers.
  • Finished 2011, 2012, and 2013 as the number one 'A' sized unit in Customer Satisfaction.
