I have spent the last 8 and a half years in Logistics. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I went into that field knowing zero about Logistics. In the end I came to learn quite a bit of knowledge on the rules and regulations of Logistics.
Before that I was enrolled in Ivy Tech under the Hospitality Program with the goal of achieving a business degree. I had fallen into Logistics on a whim through some friends that owned a small business. They had a position open in their office and I decided to apply for it.
Primarily I went to school to become a Phlebotomist and spent 13 years in the field. I worked in various health care settings that kept my skills sharpened. It was a very rewarding career but decided to take a completely different career path.
Work History
Logistics Coordinator / Dispatch
8 Years 6 Months- -Managed fleet of 24 owner operators specializing in entertainment truck driving, ensuring timely delivery of services.
- -Planned routes for venues, start and end times and any other important information that the driver needs
- -Inputting loads in the system, ensuring billing to the customer is accurate and pay to the driver is correct
- -Handling any problems that arise during the duration of their tour or project that they were assigned to.
