As the head nurse of my department, I successfully led a team of 15 nursing staff through a challenging transition to a new electronic health record (EHR) system. I also managed our preparations for the Joint Commission surveys, as well as for the hospital's certification and recertification as a Level 1 trauma center.
Assisted in organizing and facilitating comprehensive training sessions to ensure that every team member felt confident in using new technologies such as CRRT, massive blood transfusion infusers, ICP bolts, BIS monitors, train-of-four devices, and targeted temperature management equipment. To assist with daily documentation and chart reviews, I created checklists and guide sheets for the staff. Additionally, I participated in the hospital's Pathway to Excellence journey and contributed to the submission of the ICU AACN Beacon application.
These accomplishments not only improved our department's workflow but also fostered a greater sense of community and support among the nursing staff.
