Activities & Personal Projects

I enjoy working through and figuring out all types of puzzles and problems, whether these problems be games, mathematical questions, or programming challenges. I developed a Neural Net (https://github.com/darbyk/NeuralNet), in which I delved into the math behind NNs, created a sample NN and CNN, and tailored them to solve tasks, e.g., using the project to enter Zillow’s Zestimate Competition on Kaggle or estimating the winner given two arbitrary hockey teams. I've also created 2D pixel games to better understand the mechanisms behind some of my favorite video games (Factorio, WoW). I hope to bring this same passion and curiousity for solving problems to my professional career.
