As a System Administrator supporting Aleut Federal, I manage and maintain hybrid cloud backup operations using HYCU to ensure mission-critical data is protected, replicated, and fully recoverable. I oversee the health, performance, and reliability of backup environments, while troubleshooting issues across cloud and on-premises infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and monitor HYCU cloud backup platforms, ensuring successful backup jobs, disaster recovery readiness, and compliance with organizational policies.
• Troubleshoot backup failures, configuration issues, storage errors, and system alerts across virtualized and cloud environments.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain Pure Storage systems to support new server deployments, and storage expansion.

In respect to the sensitivity of my NSA work, during my time as a system administrator, I managed user access by creating and modifying user accounts, assigning roles, and maintaining group memberships in accordance with agency policies and security protocols. I created reports on server performance metrics for senior management review.

Accomplishments.

• Analyze security alerts and process outputs, including specified logging, intrusion detection, and malware detection reports.
• Maintained 100% account compliance by implementing rigorous auditing practices, enforcing security policies for user access, reducing account lockouts, and unauthorized access incidents.
• Perform and document security processes, including compliance monitoring, vulnerability detection, alert investigation, and threat intelligence analysis.
• Collaborated with audit teams to ensure system access policies aligned with federal standards (NIST, DoD STIG), contributing to successful annual security assessments.
• Participate in the design, configuration, testing, implementation, maintenance, and documentation of detection, prevention, and response processes.

Accomplishments

• Managed a $10 billion Air Force network with an Active Directory database, utilizing the LDAP protocol to deliver secure, reliable core services to 900,000 global users.
• Administered an Active Directory environment, managing user accounts, security groups, and organizational units for over 3,000 users across multiple domains.
• Authored SOPs, STIGs for hard drive installations, standardized hardware for 32 servers across 13 sites, and ensured consistent performance.

• Configure and manage UNIX and Windows (or other applicable) operating systems, install and load operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain the integrity of, and configure network components, along with implementing operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
• Performed administrative configurations and upgrades on the master image for a 3,000-device VDI zero-client infrastructure through VCenter.
• Led a successful Windows 10 migration across 500 systems, ensuring compliance with DoD mandates, with zero operational impact.
• Displayed leadership skills by resolving four vital C2 systems, and provided pivotal support for C4ISR operations monitoring an unidentified aerial phenomenon over the course of 96 hours.
• Applied 115 patches across 20 systems, creating 746 training tasks, eliminating 20 critical vulnerabilities, and 500 risk vectors using PowerShell scripts with automated patch management tools.
