After completing my internship with Event Medical Staffing and getting nationally registered as an EMT, I was officially hired onto the team.

• Shadowed certified EMTs and AEMTs at concert venues, assisting with vital signs and patient assessments
• Collaborated with security teams to ensure the safety of attendees and provide rapid first aid response when needed
• Observed the escalation process for advanced care, including notifying dispatch and coordinating with paramedics for higher-level interventions
• Got firsthand experience treating a variety of patients, from mild dehydration to alcohol poisoning and opioid overdose

• Prepared three meals a day for the residents of Switchpoint, a behavioral health and addiction recovery facility.
• Kept the kitchen clean and organized while following health and food safety regulations.
• Worked with the head chef to develop nutritious and delicious meal plans based on the residents' food preferences.
• Interacted with residents on a daily basis, most of whom had co-occurring mental health disorders and/or substance abuse problems. This taught me patience and de-escalation skills. I also became very well-versed in trauma-informed care and how it applies to conflict resolution.
  
  

• Stocked shelves and maintained inventory, mainly in the grocery department, to ensure product availability
• Checked expiration dates and rotated stock to meet food safety and quality standards
• Helped customers locate items and provided friendly, knowledgeable service
• Kept the sales floor and stockroom clean and organized
• Provided backup at the checkout line during busy periods
