  • As a Machine operating team member for Smurfit Westrock i operate multiple machines as needed per day.
  • One of the 2 machines i operate is a team ran and the other is a solo operating machine.
  • As a team we operate a glue sprayer and compression table building corrugate pallets.
  • I also operate a Corewinding Machine.
  • My responsibilities are to load materials into the machines building the pallets to specifications after spraying with glue and compressing pallets.
  • My responsibilities are setting up machines, monitoring machines and finished product, replacing components as needed.
  • Keeping a clean machine and work area, adjusting components, speed, pressures, keeping tally of scrap, downtimes for the length of our 10 hour shift.

  • As part of the CPT team, my role is a Packer.
  • My responsibility includes inspecting trays from the assigned machine for malformation, defects or contaminants.
  • Trays then need to be packed correctly using the appropriate packing materials with every case and tote properly and neatly labeled.
  • When counting scales are used, the scale needs to be tared before use (beginning of shift, after a job or material change and once every two hours through the shift) to ensure accuracy.
  • Responsibilities also include assisting in the proper disposal of scrap (trash vs. clean reclaim scrap), covering breaks/lunches for others, detailed cleaning of station, restocking packing supplies, building and changing scrap totes and general cleaning as needed.
