  • If provided by a contractor, review project plans and specifications to understand project requirements and accurately estimate cost and resources needed.
  • Tracks project costs and expenses to monitor progress and identify and mitigate deviations from original estimate unless a supplement is necessary.
  • Once a coverage decision is made, communicates decision with insured party and reviews related documents along with policy language applicable to the loss.
  • Drafts a coverage position letter outlining applicable policy language for denials or partial denials.
  • If coverage is provided, send requests for a settlement payment to the accounting department with necessary amounts and payee information if within reserve authority.
  • If settlement exceeds reserve authority, send the file to supervisor (VP of Claims) for review.
  • Provides all relevant claim documentation to insured party and to contractor as needed.
  • Prepared summaries of damage, payments, and policy coverage.
