Oversee operation of two, 950 megawatt each, coal-fired units, AC switchyard, and all related equipment. Manage and direct a large crew of operators, I&E technicians and mechanics. Coordinate and administer facility activities to meet company objectives and corporate policy. Develop and implement procedures and administer training programs for plant personnel to operate in a safe and cost effective manner. Monitor operations for efficiency and safety ensuring all applicable regulatory requirements are followed. Direct hiring, promotions and other personnel actions as required. Accountable for plant production objectives and establishing shift production agendas. Oversee administration of the safety lock-out procedure.

Provide direct supervision of all operating personnel within required jurisdiction covering all aspects of plant operations and maintenance. Duties included employee performance evaluations, discipline, scheduling, training, resolving complaints, day-to-day plant operation and all other related duties to lead and supervise subordinates. Work with planning and craft supervision to schedule major unit outages and daily repairs of plant equipment. Direct and monitor all phases of the lock-out clearance procedure. Serve as Fire Brigade Commander and Hazmat Incident Commander for the emergency response team.

Function as the team leader of the main control room. Interface and coordinate operational orders, unit load ramps, unit availability, electrical grid requirements, etc. with the Energy Control Center in Los Angeles. Conduct all high voltage switching as required by the ECC and/or unit operation. Oversee administration and issuing of the lock-out clearance procedure and serve as liaison to other station employees. Serve as Emergency Response Dispatcher.

Held full responsibility of operating two, 950 megawatt each, GE/Alstom turbine/generator sets, B&W drum boilers, CCS/DCS controls and all auxiliary sub-systems and electrical switchgear. Trained new unit operators as necessary. Assisted in writing on-the-job training (OJT) for all operator classifications.

Operated and maintained all unit's auxiliary equipment including boilers and turbines, condensate/feedwater systems, scrubbers/baghouses, water treatment facility, and all other unit related outside areas. Participated in the initial start-up, steam blows and testing of units and consequent commercial operation. Assisted in writing system operating procedures and equipment guidelines of plant systems for operations personnel.

Operated and monitored all auxiliary equipment for three, 750 megawatt each, coal-fired CE super-critical boilers, GE turbine/generators and all related equipment.
