Regional Career Specialist
- Assist students in developing personal employment goals, honing employability skills and creating and executing personalized career plans.
- Help students pursue employment, internship/externship, apprenticeship opportunities.
- Provide feedback and hands-on instruction with preparing work portfolios and cover letters; and prepare students for job interviews.
- Redefine and update Workforce Wednesday curriculum and content for CTE instructors and students using the LMS Canvas.
- Attend job fairs and visited classrooms to provide wide range of information to prospective job seekers.
- Develop and deepen connections with mentees, influencing career and life choices of each potential program participant.
- Maintain modern and technologically-savvy direction for operations.
- Devise and oversee job fairs and career events.
- Help with Dual Enrollment process with students through Virginia Peninsula Community College.
- Connect with business and recruiters to build relationships and increase opportunities for students.
- Lead workshops for job seekers to provide information on job searching, application completion and resume building.
- Use creative, digital arts, videography, and photography skills to keep the purpose of the CTE program at NHREC moving afloat (Workforce Wednesday curriculum, Channellock competition, social media).
