Work History

Sustainable Urban Development Research Intern

NATIONAL ASSEMBLY FOR WALES
07.2017 - 08.2017
  • Completed research, compiled data, reviewed maps, and produced timely reports suggesting how to make Cardiff, Wales more transportation-friendly and ecologically supportive.
  • Attended and closely observed how Welsh Assembly conducted their meetings.
  • Wrote 10 page paper to suggest future projects for AM's office.
  • Reviewed government processes and procedures to identify areas for improvement.

Operations Associate

MILLENNIUM ADVISORS
03.2018 - 08.2018
  • Moved my entire life to Charlotte, in the hopes of earning enough money or learn how to make enough money so that my family wouldn't have to sell our house.
  • Studied for 3 securities exams.
  • Passed the Series 63 exam and failed the Series 7 three times, after which I experienced intimidation, sexual harassment (which I had been experiencing the entire time, but it became more overt) and I ultimately had my first (and hopefully only) panic attack wherein I escaped the office to seek shelter in a parking garage and call my mom. I was 21.
  • After this experience, my confidence in myself was degraded. I learned that I was hired in a targeted manner by one of the Co-Founder's daughter, who probably felt strongly about the Me Too movement and challenged him to hire someone with my demographic, not my merit.
  • I was sought out through LinkedIn, which led me to distrust the platform and in general, people's motives. I've grown a lot from and since this work experience and do not want to be misunderstood as having a victim mindset, but this was a very unusual and questionably unethical method of employment wherein I was flown out and made to feel well beyond my years. I did not tell anyone the circumstances and grief I was experiencing, which I wish I had. You're probably wondering what those were and my dad had devastating strokes shortly before I graduated college. I wanted to make him and my family proud so I pushed myself, but I lost a lot of my sense of self and taking this job was the beginning of that process, which I can say has finally stopped. I know this is unusual, but I would be doing myself a disservice to present this experience as anything other than that.

Behavior Support Clinician

COMPASS COUNSELING SERVICES OF NORTHERN VIRGINIA
12.2018 - 05.2019
  • Began to apply psychological principles studied in college.
  • Learned what ABA therapy was and how to provide it to young children with Autism. I had one client only because I was simultaneously starting a job as a medical assistant to a very busy (young and inexperienced) doctor who was scheduled in three offices in two states (Maryland and Virginia) every week.
  • My client's family was primarily Arabic-speaking, so it was a privilege to improve my client's English. We sang and played while putting together an English alphabet puzzle every week. Once we met all of our objectives, we played Mario kart. I collected data about his problem behaviors: flapping, vocal stereotypy, and biting (which never happened). This was a heartwarming job.

Medical Assistant

U.S. DERMATOLOGY PARTNERS
12.2018 - 06.2020
  • Obtained client medical history, medication information, symptoms, and allergies.
  • Called and faxed pharmacies to submit prescriptions and refills.
  • Scheduled appointments, registered patients, and distributed sample pharmaceuticals as prescribed.
  • Taught patients about medications, procedures, and care plan instructions.
  • Directed patients to exam rooms, fielded questions, and prepared for physician examinations.
  • Kept medical supplies in sufficient stock by monitoring levels and submitting replenishment orders before depleted.
  • Sanitized, restocked, and organized exam rooms and medical equipment.
  • Facilitated seamless patient care with thorough and accurate documentation of medical histories, vital signs, and medications.
  • Coordinated patient referrals to specialists or other healthcare providers as needed for comprehensive care management plans.
  • Performed medical records management, including filing, organizing and scanning documents.
  • Enhanced clinic efficiency by assisting physicians with routine procedures and diagnostic tests.
  • Maintained strict adherence to infection control protocols by following proper sterilization techniques for medical equipment.
  • Collaborated with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide coordinated care for patients in various settings.
  • Contributed to positive health outcomes by educating patients on preventative measures, treatment plans, and follow-up care instructions.
  • Assisted surgeries for melanoma excision by creating lidocaine injections and setting up for procedures. Occasionally, I would inject more numbing, but most importantly, my physician needed me for blotting and sutures.

Behavior Support Clinician

Artist

Self
  • Initial interest is documented around age 9 (when I started writing lyrics), but I decided to start pursuing music professionally in my 20s, submitting **** songs to streaming platforms in January 2023.
  • I started recording vocals in middle school while playing guitar.
  • I was a classical musician from 5th grade until I graduated college (and part of me will always be a classical musician despite not having played any classical music in years). I played the clarinet.
  • I started recording music professionally in July 2o22, although I made a lot of unfortunate decisions when choosing who to work with and was taken advantage of time and time again until I moved to LA in 2023 and made the mistake of bringing along a bum, who made me lose a lot of money.
  • I'm always writing and have finally found some stability in my life, so I hope to make more music and in an authentic way :)
