Hardworking individual, who strives to be the best and most efficient. I love to be taught a new task, I may not know everything but I will do my best to get it right once shown the correct technique. I love to get my hands dirty, if it means it will lighten the load on the rest of my team. During my time working with different companies, I have always been able to take sort of a leadership role, even just stepping up more or just doing a task no one else wants to do in order to elevate the team. With Sam's Club curbside, we were the best in our market for a very long time. There have been numerous small victories as well that boost the morale, I can say any team I have been a part of has been one of the most efficient they had.
The job fell into three categories; picking, staging, dispensing. Some days you could do all three, other days you'd have to pick one and stick it because we were busy. Even so, we all have side duties as well such as answering phone calls, getting pallets down with forklift, or going to service desk to do returns. When picking, you need to move as fast as you can to get the order finished, learning the layout of the store and if changes were made on the floor helps out a bunch. Even with picking there are three other subcategories; frozen and chilled, ambient, and large (drinks and heavy items). With staging, each order must go either on a cart or in a box if applicable. The main part when staging cold items, all raw proteins should be bagged and boxed. Dispensing can be a hectic when it's busy, but with a system there's always a method to the madness. When someone checks in, we must verify they are the ones authorized to pick up by checking identification and making sure all items listed are correct.
Pulling pallets of freezer, cooler, and deli out of the trucks and stored into the big coolers. Also, pulling out the pallets already in the coolers and putting the newer ones in the back, minimizing risk of spoilage. Dumping boxes and trash into the correct compactors in the back. Zoning and condensing boxes for the optimal visual quality for the customers. Stocking out items that were low or completely empty, and making sure the correct signs were over each item.
Maintaining shopping carts (regular, flats, or electric scooters) inside for customer usage, keeping the parking lot clean, assisting those who needed a hand with groceries or just a heavy lift. Also, communicating with our team outside with what we needed or getting low on and the team inside if we needed relief, more water, etc.
Working on freight and putting all overstock in the top bins, zoning and pulling all merchandise forward for customer viewership, setting up balloon bouquets, replacing helium tanks, all janitorial duties, sweeping parking lot for baskets, signing up new customers at register, manning the register.
There was also a point during 2021, I helped the store do its remodel process.
