During my Freshman Semester at Chapman, in Fall 2024, I was an extra in one of the films one of my friends was working on. It was called, "The King of Theater", and even though I was just an extra, I saw a lot of the aspects of film production that went on while I was there.

I participated in my high school theatre departments program in many ways. During one semester, I worked the lighting board for one show. Changing the ques at the right moment and making sure everything looked right and went smoothly was a huge task, but I found it super fun once I felt confident in it. Lighting design is also a huge part in the production of film, so having some knowledge in that area is super helpful, as it could give me some insight.
Another of those semesters of tech I did in high school included being a stagehand. During this experience, I made sure people got on stage in time and had all their props and costume pieces ready and in place. These skills are also used in film, as props need to be ready for scenes and reset if scenes need to be reshot, which they most often do.
During the course of last summer, I had an Engineering Internship at a company called Therm-X. This internship taught me a lot of new ways to design and be creative in the field. This is also what is needed in film, as creative innovations can push the boundary of film and what it can do.
