Having served the City as a civil servant for 9 years under 2 administrations, I have watched the City lose its accountability to its residents. However, over the last couple years there have been some burgeoning currents heading in the right direction. I aim to capitalize on my experience particularly in overseeing the administration of contracts and finance functions at PUC and ADP in order to lead the way on nonprofit and contractor accountability, and in centralizing and streamlining our contracting processes. I brought together Tenderloin business to meet with Daniel in 2023 because I knew he would listen and that with him as Mayor the afflicted neighborhood would have a fighting chance. I would be honored to serve in any role in Daniel’s administration that would best serve the City’s needs as a whole – whether by creating a more visionary and innovative government or by rebuilding the people’s trust in its stewardship. I have witnessed the City’s bureaucratic dysfunction firsthand, and I am relieved that we are finally on the verge of real change. And as a native San Franciscan who has worked at a homeless youth services agency and at a Jewish charitable foundation, and as a lifelong Jewish educator, I want nothing to more than to leave the next generation of San Franciscans with a brighter and better future, to help repair our world for those who come right after us and well beyond. I am eager and excited to play my essential part in San Francisco’s transformation.
