- Routine maintenance can vary from day to day include camaring laterals, snaking lateral using different attachments, flushing sewer mains, SL Rat on manholes, and assisting CCTV crew. Assist the water crew in late night water main flushing.
- Assist in conducting and investigating water and sewer system in response to sewer back ups, manholes, sewer main problems, water leaks, fire hydrant mulfunction, service leaks, and service taps leaks.
- Assist in the replacement of sewer laterals that have been scheduled for replacement or have been turned over by licensed plumber.
- The availability to operate various power tools, vehicles, and equipment, such as dump truck with and without a trailer, Jet flushers, Jet vac con, skit loader, backhoe, loader, paving breaker, jack hammer, tamper, air compressor.
- The ability to read field maps for water distribution and water collection system for main shut down, sewer pipe size and flow, and to write paper work for the routine maintenance done for the day.
- Cover duty call after hours to respond resident needs and complaints. Sewer backups, flush sewer mains, assist with water main shut down for contractor, and any other problem with water distribution and waste collection system.
- Restore and clean work sites after scheduled dig up or water main break. Sites must be left clean, secure, properly backfill and tamper. Grass seeds and straw must be laydown on existing grass areas.
- Check and write paper work for lift station and pump stations. Check and make sure they are running properly, reading instrumentation, and responding to situation that may raise.

- Assist with traffic control by putting up the proper signal to protect the crew, pedestrians, bicyclists and traffic. Assist putting up cones around work area, vehicles and equipment.
- Schedule led replacement for Dc water program. Speed test on water meter crock to see what type of material of the water service. Replace if copper was not found by dig a trench on water meter crock, on water main, and properly line. Connect new copper service line from the water main to meter pit, and meter to property line with a curve stop. Assist to do a new tap if the same valve could not be use, and assist to plug the old tap. Once everything was connected open the valve slow to prevent air in to the service line, and test the pressure on meter before installing a jumper. Backfill, clean and secure job site at the best possible to the satisfaction of DC water inspector.
- Schedule clean out, or lateral replacement for sewer line. Assist to line up the sewer main and tap. Assit the excavation operator by hand digging around the mark utilities until the sewer lateral is completely uncover from the property line to the sewer main. Assist putting down shoring system before entering the ditch. Cut the pipe at property line to install a clean out by using a fernco. Laydown 4 inch pvc pipe from install clean out tap by suing pvc clue and 4 inch gasket. Lay out bricks if necessary to secure the pipe and use a level to have the right fall on the pipe. Secure the tap with concrete and shock the lateral 57 gravel, recheck the fall with level before backfill.
- Cover emergency dig up for water leeks and sewer after work hours for DC water.
