As base lead pilot I was responsible for ensuring base pilots complied with FAA and Air Methods flight regulations, pilot scheduling, and base logistics. Additionally as a pilot-in-command I was responsible for safe and compliant flight operations.
As a Line Pilot was responsible for safe and compliant Air Ambulance operations. To accomplish this I conducted thorough preflights that included aircraft readiness, crew briefings, accurate weather interpretation, Air Methods SMS compliance, and operations that were FAA and AMC GOM compliant.
In addition to safe and compliant Air Ambulance operations as a Relief Pilot I filled vacancies through out Air Method's southeast region. At times this was at a moments notice to fill a critical pilot shortage. Due to prior planning I was able to operate in a new operating area with minimal impact to aircraft and crew availability.
As Chief Pilot I was the supervisor for the Citrus County Sheriff's Office Aviation Unit and Marine Unit. Responsible for the scheduling of pilots, Marine Deputies, and aircraft mechanic to provide coverage for Citrus County, Florida. I was responsible for ensuring day to day operations were carried out. During my tenure I rewrote unit SOPs, safety requirements, and pilot training requirements. Also during my tenure I was responsible for the acquisition and modification of three replacement aircraft.
