I have been involved in the security/law enforcement field for over 26 years. I began this by joining the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Explorer post in 2000, where I obtained many skills in patrol operations, officer safety, crime prevention, customer service and many other skills needed for a career in the security/law enforcement field.
I began my security career working for Valor Security Services, located at the Alderwood Mall, Lynnwood WA. During my 3 years of employment, I obtained experience in security, along with leadership experience as a shift supervisor. I then obtained a security officer position with the City of Seattle, located at the Seattle Public Library, Seattle WA. During my 11 years of service, I received additional training in security, law enforcement, customer service and cultural diversity working in a large, diverse community.
I graduated from Everett Community College in 2009, where I obtained an Associate’s of Arts degree in Criminal Justice. In September of 2013, I graduated from a certified Washington State Reserve Police Academy, working for 3 years as a Reserve Officer for the City of Sedro-Woolley WA.
In 2016 I obtained a position with the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office as a patrol deputy. I attended a 720 hour police academy in Burien WA, where I obtained my peace officer certification. As a Sheriff's deputy I patrolled a large service area which consisted of both rural and heavily populated areas, I also gained valuable experience in managing a high volume of calls for service.
In 2018 I obtained a position with the City of Marysville as a patrol officer. As an officer I patrolled a city of about 75000 citizens and handled a high volume of calls for service. I obtained additional valuable training in patrol operations, crisis negotiation, de-escalation and other valuable decision making training. In 2023 I was selected as the first traffic enforcement officer for the newly formed traffic unit. In 2024 I was awarded traffic officer of the year by Snohomish County Target Zero, and in 2025 I was awarded officer of the year for a medium city by Washington State Target Zero.
