Counselor with nine months counseling experience and two years of experience as a counselor assistant. As a counselor I am responsible for maintaining a client caseload, keeping up to date with treatment planning, maintaining up to date client documentation such as group notes and DAP notes, coordinating treatment efforts with team members and coordinating efforts with different levels of care and needs. As I counselor I am responsible for implementing various appropiate evidence based interventions based on the needs of my clients to ensure the highest quality of treatment and help clients to build and maintain a higher quality of life to sustain long term recovery.
As a counselor assistant I maintained a case load with consistent supervision and direct observation. During this role I maintained client documentation, facilitated groups and sessions, and gained valuable experience and knowledge needed to excel into the role of a counselor. While working in the role, I began to help clients achieve a higher quality of life to sustain long term recovery.
As a counselor assistant at white deer run, I maintained client documentation, facilitated group, and worked with a team to develop treatment plans and coordinate care with outside facilities for aftercare planning. As a counselor assistent at white deer run I facilated individual sessions, did biopsychosocial assessments, and followed up with clients after discharge to follow up on progress.
As a Behavioral health associate and White Deer Run I got to oversee a facility of twenty seven clients with co occuring disorders and ensure that house keeping was being maintained, hygiene was maintained, and that all behavioral issues within the community was handled in the most appropiate way. I facilitated groups as a behavioral health associate including meditation groups, educational groups, and occasional process gruops with counselors. As a behavioral health associate I participated in intake searches of belongings and played an active role in reporting safety concerns that could pose a threat to the inpatient recovery community.
As a clinical aid my job was to encourage clients to participate in groups and other recovery activities. Monitor for potential safety concerns and help maintain a peaceful environment for clients and staff. As a clinical aid I had to work with nursing to ensure clients got there medications, address behavioral concerns, practice de escalation skills to prevent fights and other problems, and assist in emergency situations such as fire or medical emergencies.
