Passion for 2-way radio design and repair began at age 14
In March 1980 was asked to move to Albuquerque from Denver to take over independent Motorola dealer that was being closed. Was. then responsible for servicing all customers that were dealing with closed dealership. Included was all equipment on Sandia Crest, ALBQ police department, several hospitals, etc.. I also was required to install new radio in police and business vehicles. Over next few years was made manager of service facility, and had 6 employees that report to me.
Responsible for all account, sales and service, in the ski country 70 miles north of Denver. Duties included, but limited to, servicing a radio equipment for Vail Associates ski area. In addition, responsible for Keystone, Breckenridge, A Basin, Winter Park a Leadville ski areas. Further, responsible for all fire, police, and other city municipalities' radios.
Repaired and programmed Motorola 2-way radios. Did trouble shooting to the component level. Used such equipment as RF Service Monitor, calibrated watt meters, de-soldering machine.
Interfaced with customers to answer their questions about cost, time, and final working condition.
Was hired by Motorola, Inc. on this date. Because I lived 90 miles from Los Angeles, commuted each day 180 miles round trip to be able to work for Motorola.
Was hired as pager repair technician. Within 1 year was promoted to Group Leader.
Repaired Motorola Pageboy II's to the component level. Motorola had very large contract with a common carrier in region, to repair all pagers that stopped working.
Passing FCC second class operator's license in month before job with Swan Electronics.
Duties included, but were not limite to, checking out. 146 MHz HAM radio transceivers. Also certified VHF marine band radios.
Unfortunately, was laid off in October 1972.
After hiring, was sent for 13 weeks of training in Pennsylvania.
Duties included repair and calibration of strip chart recorders, automated controllers, and other Honeywell industrial products.

Have been a licensed amateur radio operator since age 12, 1955. Have designed, installed, and maintained a multitude of UHF repeater system, including one on Bald Mountain ( 13,000 feet) on Bald Mountain, Breckenridge, Colo, another on the continental divide at warming shack A Basin Ski Area, 13,000+ feet height, and several on Sandia Crest mountain overlooking Albuquerque, NM. Was first HAM to put up a repeater in Summit County, Colorado.
Worked self up from RF Technician (1972) to Senior Design Engineering of Low Poll Filer (2020). I am very familiar with Hewlett Packard Network Analyzer, model 8357B.
