I am a worker with years of experience in customer service. Food service taught me the skills needed to manage customer needs and ensure quality service. This included developing excellent customer service skills and practicing active listening skills. I also learned how to manage cash drawers and make change promptly and accurately, making sure that customers received the change they were due.
This has segued well into my transition into coaching, in which I actively listen to player feedback and emotional needs to gather the information I need to foster their growth as a player on the field. My decade of experience playing ultimate also lends well to instruction, and i learned how to convey information in a clear and concise manner to draw attention to the skills I needed to teach
The coaching opportunity was associated with Parks Tacoma, which gave me the necessary experience to acquire a job at Star Center as a recreational lead at the childcare area. I learned how to work with a wide age group of children and practice empathy and develop growth while also correcting bad behavior through communicating the importance of boundaries, listening and conflict resolution to the children under my care.
