I am currently pursuing an associate degree in accounting, with a strong background of over 10 years in the medical field. After careful consideration, I have decided to transition into the accounting profession and am excited to embark on this new career journey. I am eager to leverage my diverse experiences and develop my skills in a new industry.
I began my career at Northwestern Hospital in Woodstock, where I worked as a Medical Assistant. In this role, I was responsible for answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, processing medication refills, and performing patient rooming duties. Additionally, I conducted routine vitals assessments to support patient care.
After a year, I transitioned to the McHenry location of Northwestern Hospital, where I took on a new challenge as a Phlebotomist working overnight shifts. In this position, I was responsible for drawing blood samples, conducting drug tests, and managing lab work for approximately 100 patients per day, ensuring timely and accurate results in a fast-paced environment.
During my tenure at Howard Brown Health, I gained valuable experience working both in the clinic and remotely. In the clinic, I performed a range of essential tasks to support patient care and clinic operations. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, I transitioned to providing Telehealth services from home for two years. In this role, I conducted virtual appointments with patients, ensuring continuity of care while adapting to evolving technology and healthcare delivery models. This experience allowed me to engage with the community and further develop my skills in telemedicine and patient care.
