• Tasked with the formation and hiring of the inaugural Security Department for this new luxury resort and indoor water park that opened in April 2019.
• Responsible for the safety and security of 200 employees and over 1500 guests and visitors on a daily basis.
• Responsibilities include creation of written policy and standards, developing efficient security procedures to safeguard the entire resort and 100,000 square foot indoor water park.
• Responsible for overall Emergency Management of the resort. Reviews and approves all written incident reports and serves as the medical and safety officer for the resort ensuring compliance with state and federal safety standards.
• Manages and schedules a 24/7 Security Department. Provides training to staff in CPR/AED & First Aid, patrol/surveillance techniques, interview & interrogation techniques, de-escalation techniques and report writing.
• Handles insurance claims for the resort and recommends safeguards to minimize liability. Conducts needs assessments and worked closely with leaders to correct problems and implement improvements.
• Maintains effective working relationships with local and state government agencies and collaborated closely on investigations.

• Hired during construction of new hotel/theme park and tasked to assist in the formation of a new Public Safety Department.
• Maintain relationships with planning advisors, designers, legal counsel, architects, government officials and construction companies to ensure effective communication.
• Collaborate with the Operations Director to establish and maintain annual budgets for the Public Safety Department labor and equipment.
• Supervise all Security and Health Service programs related to Park Operations from both a contractor and staff perspective. Assist in the hiring, development, corrective actions, and termination activities as applicable, for direct report staff.
• Ensure on-site Health Services team complies with insurance, medical and security supplies and equipment requirements coordinating with insurance cohorts, construction management companies and labor.

Locations included Yankee Stadium, Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Center and The Staten Island Ferry Terminal.

• Supervises the maintenance of law and order on the SUNY New Paltz campus and the enforcement of Federal, State, and local laws as well as the rules and regulations of SUNY and the campus.
• Developed appropriate preventive and security techniques to control crimes on campus.
• Oversaw all Title IX Investigations working jointly with the College's Title IX office. Responsible for the issuance of "Timely Warnings" when applicable.
• Maintained and updated the college's Annual Security Report along with all CLERY requirements.
• Reviewed all reports submitted by university police personnel concerning incidents and investigations on campus.
• Acted as a liaison with Federal, State, and local law enforcement officials and agencies to assure a mutual understanding of policies.
• Supervised the scheduling of personnel in the university police force to assure their efficient deployment.
• Supervised the background investigations of all applicants for employment with the University Police Department and participates in all phases of the interview process.
• Acted as a liaison with the SUNY System Administration Coordinator of University Police services in matters concerning recruitment, training and deployment of university police personnel.
• Ensured that each university police employee receives basic and in-service training as required.
• Maintains liaison with the campus Office of Student Affairs to assure the accomplishment of university objectives in relation to the University Police Office.
• Co-Chaired the University’s Emergency Management Team and created the Office of Emergency Management for the University which reports to the Chief of Police.
• Functions as the “Public Information Officer” and “Face” of the department on a 24/7 basis.
• Successfully led the department to New York State Law Enforcement Accreditation in April of 2018.
• Oversaw a staff of 28, including 23 sworn officers.

• Initial responsibilities included general police patrol and enforcement of applicable statutes and laws.
• In 1995, assigned to a specialized county task force titled “The Ulster County Family Violence Unit.” This State Police run specialized task force combated domestic violence and sexual/child abuse throughout Ulster County.
• Also functioned as a department Field Training Officer; instructor on all medical and OSHA related topics for this department and others, a Department of Criminal Justice General Topics Instructor, Police Academy Instructor and a New York State Certified Juvenile Investigation Officer.
• Served as the department’s “Sex Offender Registration Officer” whose duties include tracking and guaranteeing compliance of all local registered sex offenders.
• Implemented and supervised department’s First Responder Medical Response program, the first of its kind in Ulster County.
• Instructor in the local Ulster County Regional Police Academy and also served as an “evaluator” for officers training to become police instructors.
• Promoted to rank of Detective in February, 2001. In 2003, assumed the role of supervisor of the detective division and was promoted to the rank of Detective Sergeant in 2008.
• Highlights included being appointed the department’s “Program Manager” responsible for an in-depth review of the overall function of the department and implementation of updated policies and procedures leading to Accreditation by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services.
• Also tasked with updating officer hiring procedures with an emphasis on thorough and accurate background/personal history investigations on all candidates.
• Additional duties included investigations of all felony level crimes including sexual assaults, arsons, homicides, death investigations and presence at all autopsies.
• Conducted and oversaw crime scene preservation, forensic evidence collection and working with New York State Authorities on evidence identification.
• Conducted both overt and covert surveillance, witness location and interviews and case preparation for Grand Jury and Criminal Trials working with the local District Attorney’s Office and State’s Attorney’s Office.
