  • As a Captain, I am responsible for agency accreditation through the Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission. This is an intensive evaluation of standards and operating procedures that are examined by outside panel members on a yearly basis.
  • I am also responsible for all Human Resource functions, including but not limited to, hiring processes, promotions, and transfers as well as budgeting.
  • I complete the Internal Affairs function of the Sheriff’s Office as well as grant writing for the agency.
  • I head the policy review panel examining and correcting policies and also direct the training academy that our agency has at our department.
  • I am considered the training director and coordinate academies and all training for members of our agency.
  • I have also been appointed as commander of the traffic safety initiative which is a 12 member task force aimed at reducing traffic crashes and fatalities through enforcement and community participation.
