  • Managed Proof of Concept effort for a Low Cost Clustered Filesystem solution with Foundational Engineering and Enterprise Storage teams to evaluate GlusterFS as a solution. Helped draft requirements that products had to meet in order to be leveraged as a enterprise solution as part of the Open Source Flexible Infrastructure initiative
  • Managed initiative to leverage OpenCompute certified commodity hardware from Quanta to lower cost of current HP DL380 hardware platform. Effort included leveraging tools such as Foreman and RedFish API to automate build processes, which then were finished by Chef Recipes. Solution was used for Mesosphere and Big Data (Hadoop/MapR) Clusters

  • As Part of several M&A efforts, worked with cross-functional teams to migrate applications from acquisition entities data centers to Optum Based Facilities

  • Lead Team effort of Infrastructure Architects to migrate several hundred servers from a West Coast Datacenter to Minnesota without moving any physical hardware. Servers were migrated via network based connections to either new virtual machines or physical servers as required to meet business application performance requirements

  • Contracted to Optum Technology to help migrate approximately 800 Servers from a recent M&A's infrastructure in IBM's Global Services facility in ST. Louis to Minnesota based Data-center for six months
  • Groups of Servers were placed into Migration Groups with specific dates set for cut-over. Part of On-Call support team for the migration cut-over and helped on-call support teams (Hosting, Storage, Network) in case of any questions pertaining to the build documentation
  • Worked with application support teams, where available, to help provision necessary rack-space within Optum's Corporate Data-center. Built System Logical Diagrams showing end-to-end connectivity
  • Reverse Engineered application infrastructure when application support team had left the company. Reviewed system configurations to identify what services were running, what they connected to, and on what ports so that any needed firewall rules could be established
