Automotive Restoration Technician

  • During my employed I had the opportunity to work on multiple vehicles from doing brakes on a 1940 Ford Woody to a 12 volt conversion on a 1950 Ford.
  • The Primary project I was working on and spent most of my time was on a 1959 MGA that underwent a complete ground-up restoration.
  • This car was extremely rough and required a great deal of work just to bring it up to a nice driver level quality.
  • Extensive rust repair to left and right inner and outer rocker panels
  • Purchased several new patch panels; the front nose of the car, both front headlight buckets for the left and right fenders.
  • Fabricated several patch panels; Multiple patch panels for each of the rear fenders.
  • I performed many hours of hammer and dolly work to minimize body damage from front and rear end collisions the car had sustained over the years.
  • Put on new aluminum door skins
  • Applied body filler over the entire car to smooth out the cars rough exterior skin.
  • Block sanded the body fill first with 80 grit sand paper, followed by 180 grit sand paper in preparation for primer
  • The car was sent out to be primed and painted by a different company.
  • While the body was being painted, I Painted all the chassis components and began the assembly process.
  • Painted the Engine and components,
  • Performed the majority of the assembly of the car.
