Summary

With my loyalty and commitment to the FDBD I feel like achieving the rank of lieutenant would put me in a position for betterment of the departments future and communities safety. The ever growing competitiveness of the fire service creates a need for an attractive work culture, for recruiting and retention. Newcomers to the department see me as a mentor they can come to and the ones before me feel I am a reliable employee they can count on. The challenges that await needs someone that is invested professionally and personally. Holding myself to a high standard of care and on scene safety enables me to hold everyone around me to the standards the tax payers deserve. The reliance and involvement that a lieutenant entails would satisfy my need to feel like a difference is being made for the betterment of the department and community. I fear the day when coming to this profession feels like im clocking in at work. This job is home, the positive outlook and love for the job means that it has not only invested in me, but makes me feel obligated to invest all I can be in it. I would be forever grateful for your consideration for the position of Lieutenant at the FDBD.
