  • Great mentor and teacher to each new group of firefighters that are hired by the city of Stamford
  • Demonstrate tact and diplomacy in responding to complaints by citizens and other firefighters, with regards to allegations of misconduct, applying corrective strategies on minor infractions and stricter measures on more serious allegations.

  • Requested by his peers and co-workers to become a member and coordinator of the SFD Peer Support Team
  • Instrumental in helping with the transition to the current CAD system used by Stamford Emergency Communications Division. This complete changeover of the computerized system required multiple hours of data entry, software changes, run card changes and multiple problem-solving issues. Currently assigned administrative powers to ensure the CAD system operates correctly.
  • Gaining the trust and loyalty of the public dispatchers under my command was vital in making the transition as seamless as possible.
  • As Vice President of Local 787 I attended the International Association of Fire Fighter Safety Symposium bi-annually. The symposium is designed to find ways to improve the health and safety of firefighters. Many of the ideas have been implemented with the guidance and blessing of SFD administration.
  • As Local 786 President I to navigated through the COVID years by working with the city and fire administration to create guidelines and procedures to help ensure the health and safety of the citizens of the city of Stamford and Stamford firefighters during the pandemic.
  • During my term as union President, I attempted to negotiate a deal with the Long Ridge Fire Company to finally bring the city under one (1) fire union contract
  • Instrumental in bringing order, civility and trust to the Springdale fire station after years of animosity and mistrust between the career members stationed there and the Springdale volunteer department
  • Crisis Management & Response
  • Repeatedly recognized by citizens, community groups, and supervisors for quick thinking, calm and appropriate response to a multitude of crisis and emergency situations, both in the field and as a firefighter.
