Over the past 38 years I have worked in the maintenance/process engineering field. I have certificates from Athens Tech for basic hydraulics and basic electrical. At Tenneco I was responsible for maintaining equipment and programming robots to weld shocks and struts. At Hart County Hospital I was maintenance supervisor and was responsible for personnel schedules as well as general building and grounds maintenance. At Johnson and Johnson I worked in maintenance where I maintained plastic extrusion machinery and learned general PLC programming. For the past 25 years I have worked at Silgan Closures where I have held a few different positions. In the maintenance department I have maintained machinery, pumps, material handling system, chillers, injection and compression molds, chain driven, rotary, and video jet printers, box makers, and Sacmi lining machines. At the present time I am a Process Engineer responsible for training new operators and continuing education for present employees on PMV machines (Sacmi lining machine) and Sacmi Compression Molding Machines. I am involved in cost reducing projects to cut out waste of lining material and improvement of machine efficiency by reduction of machine down time.
