I've recently decided that residency and working in a hospital aren't for me. As a family-driven person who is both creative and technical, I am looking for a fresh start. I have thought about my background in engineering very often, and, after careful consideration, I have decided to transition and pursue a career in biomedical/software engineering. This decision is driven by my passion for creation; putting things in and getting new (hopefully better) things out! This, combined with my technical prowess, have made me realize that engineering/programming is my true calling. I am excited and highly motivated to apply my technical skills and problem-solving abilities to create innovative solutions.
My background includes hands-on experience in patient care, operational standards, and patient documentation, combined with proficient technical skills in Python, C++, MATLAB, LabVIEW, and SQL. I am also experienced in customer needs assessments, consultative sales, ensuring customer satisfaction and fostering long-term relationships. I am highly communicative and work well both by myself and in a team setting.
As I attended medical school, most of my engineering experience comes simply from my degree, rather than from work experience.
I have certifications in HTML, CSS and Javascript, as these were programming languages that my undergraduate school did not focus on as much. I wanted to sharpen my skills and build upon my programming knowledge, so I decided to pursue and finish all necessary sections on a boot-camp to receive these certifications.
Music: I took up the guitar when I was 8. I started with acoustic, slowly delving into the world of electric/rock as I grew older. Later on, after hearing so many beautiful soundtracks in film and video games, I was enticed to try the piano at the age of 13. Since then, I haven't stopped playing either one and can't imagine a world without music!
Video games: My older brother and I grew up watching my dad play games like Diablo and StarCraft. We grew incredibly interested in the world of gaming and it has simply been a part of our culture from a young age.
