- Work in the capacity of a plain clothes, private armed security guard for 6 high profile clients, in a Beverly Hills neighborhood. I drive a plain, unmarked security vehicle to patrol the clients' properties during the overnight, dark hours. I am issued a company cell phone which the clients can call, during my shift, to report any suspicious activity. I respond to the location to access the scenario and make the determination to handle myself, or to contact BHPD for a response. The calls typically involve ‘suspicious person on/near property', ‘home alarm activation', ‘unknown noise on property (usually a wild animal)', or extra walk around property when client is on vacation'.

- I worked as a uniformed, armed security guard. This company is a privately contracted Security Service for hundreds of residential clients. SSA provides an armed Security Service response for Alarm Response, Disturbances, and Extra Patrol services for clients that are on long or short-term vacations. Depending on which city in West Los Angeles I patrolled, I drove the marked security vehicle within the geographical area, providing directed patrol to our clients. If an actual crime had occurred, I was required to call LAPD to respond and do their investigation. If no crime occurred, I provided professional service to resolve the client's concern.

- I was an LAPD Police Officer for 23 years. After graduating from the Police Academy, I worked my probationary period at Hollywood Division. Upon the completion of my probationary period, I was transferred to Central Division, where I was promoted to the position of a Field Training Officer. This rank enabled me to be assigned to train new police officers on all required categories of their probationary training, during their first year as a Police Officer, working patrol. I remained at this rank for the rest of my career, as it enabled me to work a variety of assignments. I'm proud to say that I have had the privilege of working with a variety of people from within LAPD, as well as a variety of citizens from the communities I've served. LAPD provided me with a large amount of training during my career, including POST accredited courses in the areas of Tactics, Physical Education, Criminal Investigations, Report Writing, Human Relations, and other areas of Law Enforcement. Fortunately, working for the City of Los Angeles, I had the opportunities to work many high profile events. During the course of my career, I became a Peer Support Member, and a member of the Department's Chair Committee. I also became an Employee Complaint Representative for the Los Angeles Police Protective League, as well as a League Delegate for Central Area Community Police Station. During my career, I received 66 commendations, approximately 32, of which, were from public citizens.
