As a Waste Specialist since January 16, 2024, I have been responsible for waste characterization and management, including sampling, accumulation, labeling, storage, manifesting, transporting, and disposal. I have handled special waste such as roadmix, lead, mercury, asbestos, PCBs, and more. I have also managed data organization, supported regulatory and corporate OE Waste metrics reporting, and implemented environmental standards and guidelines.
In my additional role as an Environmental Specialist since January 16, 2023, I have stayed current on applicable field-level environmental regulations, conducted engagements with departmental stakeholders to align on regulatory requirements, and led field-level change management for new or amended rules and requirements. I have also been involved in regulatory agency reporting, verifying field-level environmental regulatory reporting, and providing oversight in the use and entry of data in visualization tools and databases.
Key Responsibilities and Achievements:
- Compliance and Liaison: You have recommended and implemented appropriate actions to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, serving as a liaison with external and governmental agencies or internal business partners. This includes regulatory agency reporting to CalGEM, APCD, Water Board, OSPR, BLM, CDF&W, EPA, CUPA, and USGS.
- Process Improvement: I have developed, managed, implemented, and improved compliance/business processes, standards, procedures, training, and operational plans that advance business strategies with an impact on work group results. This includes the implementation of SJVBU & Corp Environmental Standards/Guidelines and the Product Acceptance process.
- Risk Assessment: I have evaluated and assessed environmental risk and collaborated in developing and implementing programs for risk reduction and mitigation. This includes managing the review and evaluation of IPNCs and NOVs, ensuring capture of information and data in relevant systems and databases.
- Inspections and Records: I have conducted comprehensive environmental inspections and self-assessments, maintaining accurate compliance records. This includes routine engagement with chemical vendors to maintain the Hazardous Materials Business Plan and Product Acceptance.
- Relationship Building: I have built and maintained strong working relationships with internal partners and external agencies to facilitate effective communications and collaboration. This includes conducting daily tailgates with business partners on Managing Safe Work operations and facilitating monthly safety briefs with cross-function agencies.
- Project Management: I have demonstrated project management skills to oversee and coordinate various environmental initiatives and ensure timely completion. This includes leading field support on several field-wide shutdowns and coordinating with diverse groups of functions and personnel within SJVBU.
- Record Maintenance: I have maintained detailed records and prepared related reports and studies for submission to regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance. This includes preparing Breakdown reports and submitting them to APCD with zero discrepancies.
- Asset Protection: A material job duty of all positions within Chevron is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial, and cybersecurity assets. I have ensured proper access and management of private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
- Technical Proficiency: I am proficient with programs such as Drone Deploy, Wonderware, PI Vision, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Remote Desktop, OpsAssist, Foresite, SCADA, EAM, OneNote, and PI Vision.
