Investigate claims and litigated matters against the County through the obtaining, collection, and analysis of records,documents or related materials, undertaking necessary and required research, conducting witness interviews, and providing a detailed analysis, chronology, summary and/or report of the results of the investigation to the Litigation Team Lead and/or the handling defense attorney.

Investigations are conducted in three periods: pre-litigation or claim stage, litigation stage, and post-litigation stage.

Complete special/confidential/risk management projects specifically directed and assigned by Assistant County Counsel or Lead Deputy County Counsel.

Administrator to the Origami platform, responsible for claim and financial data collection and verification, data mining for reports requested through CPRA, internal or external departments. Provide enhancements to the platform to serve the needs of the Department.

Other administrative tasks related to handling the Origami Claims System include review weekly reserve reports, make reserve changes, update claim with litigation data; provide direction/reason for file closure within the Origami system. CCO billing review to determine accuracy; Hospital Credentialing Liaison, and NPDB administrator for the County.

Conduct investigations with nurses, physicians and technicians; reviewed medical records; obtained own medical research to address complex medical issues.
