Prior Experience

  • Extensive Program Management Office planning, initiation and execution experience for public and private sector customers., Led a 30-person Lockheed team in structuring, proposing, planning, and starting up an innovative ten-year $250M program under contract at the Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL). Achieved a reduction in JPL Projects’ IT provisioning time from months to days, and a reduction of IT lifecycle costs of over 20%. Included establishing work order management and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Applications as a Service (AaaS).
  • Led a 15-person Lockheed team planning the sustaining operations for a multi-year contractual support for NASA’s SAP Integrated Financial Management. Defined staffing requirements and directed staffing/recruiting efforts for several hundred staff positions across SAP Operations, Technical Infrastructure and Applications Management. Start-up stage implementation of a comprehensive plan to reduce NASA costs by 25% over five years, a budgetary savings of $200 million.
  • Project Leader at Fortune 200 client for their strategic initiative; managed a team of 25 SAP Integration developers (15 on site, 10 offshore in India) for all of the agile custom software development, with a strategic goal of improved integration of asset management and field marketing services. Responsibility for planning and executing this $4M, one-year project portfolio that was also linked to several other concurrent SAP initiatives. Results achieved included an on-time, on budget delivery, realized a one-year ROI, with a significant reduction in costs and improved asset audit/controls and service quality for a network of retailers via Technical Services, covering over 300,000 field assets.
  • For the Program Management Office of this two-year strategic program, lead responsibility for the planning, scheduling, risk management, issues management and program earned value tracking for a portfolio of ten integrated SAP projects (full suite) for the State of Pennsylvania Executive Branch enterprise solution, involving 300-person client/contractor team, from startup to phased deployment. Cited by the Governor as a major success in all aspects for modernizing the Executive Branch.
  • Lead Senior Manager role for a 20-person Lockheed team, on a Nuclear Regulatory Commission program definition, inception and initiation. Structured, planned and established a national security focused $90M five-year contract for Software Lifecycle Management including IT Governance and IT Audit/Controls for nuclear source tracking of nuclear materials held by licensees (custom application software full lifecycle management).
  • For the Army Corps of Engineers, planned and executed a nationwide information technology upgrade program. Identified 50 special high priority projects, planned and structured the project portfolio and provided project management services for the execution of the critical first-year technology upgrades in network, desktop, printers, and radios/radio towers maintenance involving over 37,000 users, and 50,000 IT devices across 53 Districts.
  • Successfully managed three successive projects for ERP / Package Enabled Business Re-engineering of Manufacturing Execution system integration (SAP MM/PP/SD/FI/CO/ABAP) at a major international chemical company (specialty chemical additives line of business). Significantly improved Supply Chain Management and realized multi-million-dollar cost avoidances.
  • Developed and implemented a business operating model and incorporated SAP solution for a newly formed global corporate subsidiary’s online marketplace, created to serve upstream oil and gas buyers and suppliers and systems integration. Reporting to the CEO, with an overall project capital budget of $100 million.
  • For one of the largest national telecommunication companies, served as deputy program manager involving over 80 team members, for a 14-month full suite accelerated SAP implementation sponsored by the COO. Scope consisted of seven concurrent projects, replacing 15 legacy systems with the SAP enterprise solution (FI/CO/PS/MM/PM/ABAP), extensive process changes, and a new technical infrastructure. Met all milestones and deliverables on schedule with less than 3% cumulative budget variance, and achieved a non-disruptive organizational transition to the new solution. All business objectives were met, including faster more accurate monthly financial closings and improved visibility of financials.
  • For a subsidiary global beverage company client (Coca-Cola), lead responsibility to work with client CFO, CIO, and staff to plan and initiate a major ERP project (SAP FI/CO/SD/MM/PP/PS/ABAP) involving over 20 plants and distribution serving all the Philippines. Worked extensively in country with the client, as well as with senior US stakeholders and executives heading the more global strategic initiative.
  • Implemented detailed project plan and solution blueprinting for a major mid-western electric utility for SAP Plant Maintenance/Material Management/Project Systems.
  • Lead Project Manager in developing a comprehensive plan and proposal (including Project Plan, WBS, Staffing, Procurement, Engineering) incorporating SAP ERP for construction and operation of a new cellular telecom system in Brazil. Also consulted with a Brazil-based client company in the automotive sector.
  • Provided SAP implementation project management advisory services for a large pulp and paper company (MM/PP).
