From my retirement in 2013, I have enjoyed substitute teaching. This has been a positive experience and I have benefited from being a part of several districts in the area.

• Kept accurate and current attendance records and assignment sheets to maintain file compliance.
• Maintained day-to-day classroom management and discipline to promote learning initiatives.
• Kept students on-task with proactive behavior modification and positive reinforcement strategies.
• Upheld classroom routines to support student environments and maintain consistent schedules.
• Followed classroom plans left by class teacher to continue student education and reinforce core concepts.

I had the privilege of assisting the owner of Baker Memorials in setting stones and preparing stones to be placed in cemeteries. This was a physically demanding job that was a very different experience from my past employment positions. It was very enjoyable and I learned a great deal about working with the public.

• Cleaned, organized and prepared work areas for new installations.
• Followed company standards and code requirements for all jobs.
• Worked professionally with other tradespeople on successful, on-time project completion.
• Maintained safe, clean and organized work environment.

For twenty-six years, I had the honor of educating students in grades 1st through 5th grade. I also held the position of Reading Specialist for two years. The impact this role had on my life is immeasurable. Teaching truly is an honorable and noble profession.

• Helped students develop self-esteem and life skills by fostering healthy conflict-resolution, critical thinking, and communication.
• Drove student learning by establishing clear classroom plans and group objectives, as well as actionable strategies to achieve each goal.
• Organized classroom supplies and decorated walls to create fun, nurturing settings, and meet learning needs.
• Assessed student progress by administering tests and evaluating results.
• Met with parents to review Individualized Education Plans for at-risk students.
• Stayed abreast of new trends in education by attending professional development courses and in-service trainings.
