Initiated first legislation to address plastics entering Oregon's environmental waste-stream, leading to Lane County becoming the second in the nation to enter into an agreement with the Plastic Industry to establish a plastic recycling materials program.


Helped in saving a school superintendent from being recalled.


Guided a rural economic development committee in being rated as a top exhibitor at the 1986 Vancouver B.C. Worlds Fair.


Co-organized an AYSO soccer league before the sport became so popular, along with refereeing & coaching in different athletic activities.


Initiated proposal for high tech communications tower in Veneta, as well as bringing fiber-optics to the Northwest Region.


Early advocate of sustainable development & a Cascadia Corridor High-Speed Rail system as a means for its infrastructure, and linking ties between urban/rural communities with trolleys and lighter rail systems.


As a school board director, our technology committee was recognized for having produced the best plan in the state by the Oregon Economic Department.
