Volunteer Activities
- I volunteered at a mens homeless shelter on a regular basis. I prepared breakfast for the men then spent time with them. We played ping-pong etc. I was trained to steer them into relationships with community resource advocates. I was also trained in de-escalation techniques.
- I spent years volunteering with a Divorce Rebuilding Group. I guided table discussion. This guidance included, among other things, interacting with challenging people dealing with painful & emotional topics. This interaction included one on one peer to peer counseling. I reviewed & modified curriculum. I also developed ongoing training for other volunteers. I assisted in organizing retreats,social & holiday events.
