Facilities Maintenance Manager

  • Holding six positions in five years and with multiple roles ending with facilities maintenance manager I had a whirlwind experience with PLG
  • I completed many projects integral to the creation of the PLG brand and public image through the design, fabrication, and installation
  • I remodeled the first three commercial retail stores for PLG, two here in Portland and to a slightly lesser degree, the third store in Austin Tx
  • Working closely with the photography team I brought our photo studio and studio sets to life with several large temporary set builds, many smaller prop builds, and several permanent buildouts in the studio
  • Many of my builds are currently on billboards and in PLG's national sales catalogs
  • At this same time I was creating all of the prop art for the retail locations here in Portland all while fulfilling my duties and facilities maintenance manager

Sales and Commissioning Supervisor

  • Starting in the lab casting PVDF tubular membranes, then becoming an engineering assist, and finally sales and commissioning supervisor my responsibilities included designing filtration equipment alongside the Engineering Manager
  • Materials selection and procurement, vendor coordination, customer contact and support
  • During my ten years at SpinTek I helped in the creation of dozens of large scale multimedia filtration equipment for use in commercial mines and mining refineries
  • I built and installed reverse osmosis and ultrafiltration equipment for the DOD at the Los Alamos National Laboratory
  • I aided in the design, build, quality assurance program, and long term testing program of high shear 25 disk stainless steel membrane filtration equipment for the Savannah River and Hartford nuclear facilities also for the Department of Defense
  • Following Electrical drawings I built control panels, wired field instrumentation like pressure transmitters, flowmeters, and flow control valves on all types of filtration equipment
  • I hand built many pilot systems including one running Diesel fuel at 150C through multiple columns for a desulfurization project
  • Some of my other duties included the creation of detailed design documents and mechanical drawings including shop fabrication drawings, PID, CA's, GA's, Spool drawings, and many others
  • I penned client documentation such as installation and operations manuals (IOM's) and many other types of training documentation, and all types of documentation deliverables
  • My time was spent in the office drafting CAD drawings and documents, dealing with clients and vendors, and physically building world class filtration equipment in the fabrication shop
  • I also traveled extensively in this country and many others
  • Working with SpinTek Filtration INC took me to India, New Caledonia, Argentina, multiple trips to Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and Mexico to customer locations for equipment installations, startup and commissioning, general repairs or maintenance, and training clientele faculty in the operation of our equipment

  • My brief stay here was amazing and fun
  • I helped created four or five incredible lifelike architectural scale models
  • Responsibilities included all carpentry for the bases of the models and any other woodwork required for each project
  • I also specialized in sheet acrylic manipulation for these models that ranged in price from 50k to 150K retail
  • I left due to an unexpected job offer from SpinTek Filtration listed above

Shop Foreman

  • Created acrylic and thermoformed goods including custom art installations, large round retail lobster aquariums, displays, office leaflet shelving, and much more
  • Responsibilities included physically, cutting, building, and assembly of products
  • I quickly became the shop foreman running a small shop crew, maintaining the shop tools and machinery including thermoforming equipment
  • The shop produced a wide array of acrylic goods from flat sheet acrylic
  • I left due to business Closure
