Work History

Line pilot/professional pilot

Air Associates of Kansas
Olathe, KS
10.2008 - 10.2009
  • Operated aircraft safely under various weather conditions.
  • Conducted pre-flight inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Communicated effectively with air traffic control during flight operations
  • Was responsible for picking up, newly purchased aircraft that were then flown to Denver to put the cameras in, then they were safely flown to San Francisco to do the final software update updates.
  • Being the first pilot hired onto the company, I had to make many decisions that were based solely on my experience and my intuition. These experiences or sometimes very dangerous, but I used my safety knowledge in my intuition to navigate the situations to a positive outcome.

Certified Flight Instructor

International Airline Training Academy
Tucson, Arizona
01.2008 - 10.2008
  • Instructed students on flight operations and safety procedures.
  • Developed tailored lesson plans for diverse learning needs.
  • Conducted pre-flight briefings to ensure student preparedness.
  • Instructed in aerodynamics with upwards of 70 students attending each class
  • Was able to successfully pass nine out of 10 students in which I signed off for their check ride.
  • Had zero incidents

Education

Bachelor of Science - Aviation Science

Kansas State University , Salina, KS
08.2003 - 12.2009

Skills

  • Aircraft operation
  • Pre-flight inspections
  • Flight safety compliance
  • Air traffic communication
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of different professions to enhance the companies overall success in the industry
  • Became an excellent teacher, in all subjects pertaining to aviation

Certification

  • FAA certificates in private, instrument, commercial, multi engine, CFI, in CFII

Affiliations

  • Have overcome great physical limitations in which doctors did not think I would be able to operate in society without great help. I suffered a spinal cord injury, a traumatic brain injury, and a broken neck. This incident is the sole reason why I did not continue my career as a professional pilot, but instead worked in positions, such as line service technician, and other management type roles. At this moment, in time, I have recovered 99% of the way so it won’t even be a factor in the majority of all professional activities in careers.
