Medical Education Training Center / Hospital Corpsman
During this eight week course, Navy Hospital Corpsmen are immersed in a combination of classroom and field training to gain the essential skills required to serve with the Fleet Marine Force. Emphasis is placed on learning field medicine by using the principles of Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC). This includes familiarization with USMC organization, procedures, and medical administrative and logistical support in an expeditionary environment. Training includes general military subjects, individual and small unit tactics, Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear Explosives (CBRNE), litter obstacle and confidence course completion, military drills, physical training/conditioning, and weapons familiarization. Upon completion, students receive the Navy Enlisted Classification L03A.
