The majority of my adult life has been spent "managing" a family, household, and businesses with my husband. In fact, when my husband proposed he asked me to "...be his manager for eternity". He was a tenant in the apartment complex I was managing at the time. I tease that a truer proposal for our lives together has never before been uttered. My skill list could have gone on and on for all the practical abilities I've acquired through experience these past 30+ years.
Having a resume was a requirement of the application I am filling out for the opportunity to be a seminary substitute. I didn't realize when I expressed my willingness to substitute that it was more than a volunteer experience.
I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I love teaching the Youth.
I was the head manager for five individual student housing complexes for students attending BYU and UVCC. I dealt with approximately 1900 students any given semester. I trained and oversaw the management of the individual resident managers for each complex. I handled contracts, incoming deposits and rents, cleaning checks, balancing accounts, tenant communications, establishing payment plans, and deposit returns.
I have been tremendously blessed to stay home with our children. My husband and I have had six children. Our five adult children have graduated high school and left home, having pursued higher education, full time mission service, marriage, careers, and family. Our youngest is 17 and currently a Junior in HS.
During the years of raising our children, I have had the opportunity to serve our communities in multiple ways:
*Community Theater as a performer and producer
*Parent Teacher Organizations as a participant and in leadership rolls
*School Board Representative
*Public School Music Program as a volunteer to keep music in the schools after funding made it necessary to cut our program
I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to offer our little community of Glenns Ferry Idaho a preschool experience for 3-5 year olds. I always had one three day a week class with 8 students for the seven school years I taught.
